If you’re not happy with your marriage today, can I say to you that you’re not altogether guiltless? Do you know that you really can’t blame anyone for the life you’re living now, as long as you’re an adult? You’re not entirely blameless if your marriage is in a sorry state.
Our theme scripture is quite revealing. If you believe what you keep saying, its going to come to pass. Words are the raw materials with which we build our lives, our marriages, homes and family. You can’t keep speaking negative words into your spouse, marriage, home or family and expect to have a beautiful marriage, a wonderful home and a great family.
Words are seeds and they reproduce after their kind. Words are spirits, they never die. When you speak words, they go out into the atmosphere and they begin to create for you, whatever you said. If you keep saying your spouse is lazy, useless, ugly, irresponsible and a failure, well, guess what will happen to your spouse, eventually.
You could say, “But I’m not lying. I’m just speaking the truth”. Well, you’re grossly mistaken. What you’re doing is voicing the thoughts that the devil is putting in your mind. Did you really marry a lazy, useless, ugly, irresponsible failure? No, you didn’t. Stuff happened and now you’re giving access to negative thoughts.
Joel 3:10 says “..let the weak say I am strong”. Our theme verse says “ ,,,,he shall have whatsoever he saith”. Learn to speak your desires and not your perception of “your reality”. If you don’t want a failed marriage, you have to stop saying your marriage is over. If you want your marriage to work, you have to stop saying its not working. Remember, for good or bad, you have what you say.
God’s word says marriage is to be desired above all else. Your marriage is so awesome that God commands a husband to love his wife, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it. Until you keep affirming that your marriage is of great value and a testimony of God’s goodness to you and your spouse, its not going to happen. The choice is yours, you’ll eventually have what you keep saying.
PRAYER
I thank you dear Father for the wisdom that you’ve granted me today. From today, I choose to speak wholesome words into my spouse, my marriage, my home and my family. I will no longer cooperate with the enemy to speak negative words into my marriage, home and family. Thank you Lord Jesus. Amen
