God’s word is God’s Manual for living a most successful life. Every Manufacturer has a Manufacturer’s Manual for his product. The Manual tells any user of the product what the product is, what it can do, how to use it and how to maintain it. If you don’t read the Manual before you start using the product, you will abuse the product.
God ordained marriage and He has a Manual for Marriage. There’s no way you can make a success of your marriage if you discard God’s Manual for Marriage. Everything you need to know to have a successful marriage is in the Bible. The problem is that most people get married without having a clue as to what is in the Marriage Manual.
Most Couples got married without having read God’s Manual for Marriage. Those who tried to get some information about marriage got their information from their parents, family members, colleagues, friends, movies, magazines and the internet but not from God. This is why the institution of marriage is undergoing unbelievable abuse the world over.
The most common instruction given to a husband and wife is contained in Ephesians Chapter 5 where God tells a wife to submit to her husband and tells a husband to love his wife. If you read from verse 22 closely, you discover that God’s words to a wife and a husband are not suggestions. They are commands. But, how many people obey those commands?
Most Christians make vows before many witnesses on their wedding day but how many actually fulfill those vows? To make a vow before God and then fail to fulfil the vow is foolishness. There are serious consequences for not honouring marriage vows. This is why many Christians in troubled marriages have challenges in other areas of life as well.
If you will honour your marriage vows, you will see a marked change for the better in your marriage and home. God created marriage and he knows what it will take to make that marriage a success. If you will honour God and honour your marriage vows, God will honour his word in your life and in your marriage. If you do what God says to do, you will get the results that God promised.
PRAYER
Thank you dear Father for opening my eyes to the importance of my marriage vows. I take Grace to fulfil my marriage vows from today and I thank you for your help in fulfilling these vows. Amen.
