WALKING WITH GOD
For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), [a]recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. Ephesians 2:10
Every child of God has a path designed by God for them to walk in. God has prepared everything we would ever require to live a life that glorifies Him. The reality is that everyone that walks away from the path designed by God will suffer hardship in life. They will not enjoy the provision that God made for them, even before they were born.
You see, God already arranged the city that you will live in, the people you will meet, the house you will live in and the spouse you should marry. Unfortunately, when people get lured or knocked out of God’s path for them, they end up living in the wrong city, meeting the wrong people, living in the wrong house and even getting married to the wrong spouse.
If you get married to the wrong spouse, you’re doomed, as it were. There are so many stories of men and women who couldn’t fulfil God’s destiny for them because they ended up with the wrong spouse. One day, I was in a car with a Pastor when he saw a Lunatic walking in tattered clothes on the streets. He told me he was in the same church with the Lunatic, some years back.
As the story went, the fellow was doing great as a car dealer and was engaged to be married. Then another lady came into his life and although several people warned him, he dropped his fiancee and got married to the new lady. A few months later, trouble struck. He lost everything and went mad.
To walk in God’s path requires your being close to God. You can’t know God’s path and walk in it, just by being Born Again. To walk in God’s path, you must follow Him. Jesus said He is the good Shepherd and His Sheep hear His voice and follow him. The more you study and meditate on God’s word, the easier it is to hear, be familiar with God’s voice and be led by Him. When God leads you, you can never go astray.
My Counsel to you, if you are single and desire marriage, is that you become a students of God’s word. You must desire God’s word, more than your necessary food. God’s word is light. Jesus said anyone who follows Him will not walk in darkness because they will have the light of life. And, if you are married, you also need God’s light. If you take decisions based on mere circumstances, you will end up defeated in life. God’s Word is His light. Go for God’s Word and you will walk continuously in God’s path and in victory always.
PRAYER
Thank you Lord Jesus for your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. In your word, I find guidance and direction for marriage and for my family life. Thank you for leading me in the path that I should go. I will never walk in Darkness because I have the light of life. Amen
